Description
Are you a hands-on HVAC expert who can diagnose, fix, and lead from the front? We are looking for a highly experienced HVAC Technicians to take full technical ownership of complex cooling systems across client sites.
The HVAC Technician will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC systems across high-profile facilities and mission-critical sites.
The successful candidates will be directly responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of:
VRV / VRF systems
Air Handling Units (AHUs)
Chillers
Ventilation and ducting systems
HVAC controls and related mechanical/electrical systems
This role requires a highly practical technician with strong fault-diagnosis capability, preventive maintenance discipline, and the ability to respond effectively to HVAC operational issues in real time.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations & Monitoring:
Carry out daily inspection and operational checks of HVAC systems and equipment
Monitor system temperatures, pressures, airflow, refrigerant levels, and operational performance
Monitor chiller parameters including:
suction/discharge pressures
condenser and evaporator temperatures
chilled water temperatures
oil levels and compressor performance
Monitor AHU performance including:
blower motors
filters
belts and pulleys
dampers
actuators
condensate drainage systems
Monitor VRV/VRF systems for alarms, communication faults, gas leakage, and indoor/outdoor unit performance
Preventive Maintenance:
Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities on:
chillers
AHUs
FCUs
VRV/VRF systems
ventilation systems
Clean condenser and evaporator coils
Replace filters, belts, bearings, and worn-out components
Check and top up refrigerants where required
Carry out lubrication of moving parts
Inspect electrical panels, contactors, relays, breakers, sensors, and controls
Conduct insulation resistance and electrical continuity checks
Troubleshooting & Repairs:
Diagnose and resolve HVAC faults and breakdowns promptly
Troubleshoot:
compressor failures
refrigerant leakage
PCB/control faults
airflow issues
sensor/calibration issues
communication/network faults
electrical and mechanical failures
Repair or replace defective components including:
compressors
motors
expansion valves
actuators
thermostats
sensors
control boards
Respond effectively to emergency breakdowns and critical HVAC failures
System Optimization:
Support energy efficiency and optimization initiatives
Ensure systems operate within design parameters
Recommend operational improvements and equipment upgrades where necessary
Assist with balancing and optimization of airflow and chilled water systems
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records
Record system readings, faults, repairs, and maintenance activities
Prepare daily and weekly technical reports
Escalate recurring issues and major technical risks to supervisors promptly
Health, Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and HVAC operational standards
Properly handle refrigerants and HVAC tools/equipment
Maintain good housekeeping within plant rooms and technical areas
Follow lockout/tag-out and electrical safety procedures
Requirements
OND / HND / Technical Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or related discipline with 3 - 7 years practical HVAC maintenance experience
Strong experience with:
Daikin VRV/VRF systems
Chillers
AHUs
Commercial HVAC systems
Ability to read HVAC drawings and technical manuals
Good understanding of refrigeration cycles and HVAC controls
Hands-on troubleshooting capability is essential
Experience in commercial buildings, malls, hospitals, airports, theatres, or industrial facilities is an advantage
Required Skills:
Daikin training/certification
Strong fault diagnosis capability
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies
Leadership or supervisory capability is an added advantage
