🌟 Join Our Team as a Finance Systems Architect 🌟

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Systems Architect to lead a small team of analysts and oversee the development and management of financial systems. This role is instrumental in driving automation, process efficiency, and data integrity across our finance operations. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership skills to guide the team in building and maintaining scalable solutions that enhance financial processes and decision-making. Additionally, the role includes engaging with third-party providers to support system enhancements and implementations when required.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Manage and mentor a small team of financial systems analysts, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure best practices in system design, automation, and data management.

Financial Systems Development and Maintenance:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated financial systems and tools.
  • Oversee the development of automation solutions for reconciliations, income statement reviews and other key finance tasks.
  • Ensure data pipelines for extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) are robust, scalable, and efficient.

Process Automation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and drive opportunities for automation to streamline finance processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Promote the adoption of innovative technologies to enhance workflows and system efficiency.

Data Management and Analytics:

  • Supervise data integration, ensuring clean, well-organized, and easily accessible financial datasets.
  • Oversee the development of analytics tools that drive insights for financial decision-making.

Systems Infrastructure, Support, and Third-Party Management:

  • Collaborate with IT to ensure the stability, security, and efficiency of financial systems.
  • Oversee system upgrades, ensuring smooth implementation and effective post-deployment support.
  • Engage with third-party providers for system enhancements, troubleshooting, or project implementations.

Collaboration and Strategy Development:

  • Support the implementation of new financial models and process improvements.
  • Provide strategic input on technology roadmaps and system enhancements, communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Your Profile:

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Advantageous: Bachelor of Business Science Majoring in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial systems management, automation, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing a small team of analysts or developers.
  • Programming skills in Python with experience in data analysis, automation, and ETL processes.
  • Experience with Azure, Dynamics 365, and Snowflake is advantageous. 

Location  

We are ideally seeking exceptional candidates to be based in Cape Town who are able to commute to the office at least 2 days a week.
