Head, Business Banking

Our client, a leading microfinance bank in Nigeria, is seeking an experienced Head, Business Banking to drive commercial banking growth, expand its business customer base, and strengthen its market presence. The ideal candidate will lead business development, product innovation, strategic partnerships, and portfolio management to increase deposits, revenue, and profitability. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute business banking strategies to drive growth and profitability. Drive customer acquisition and portfolio growth across SMEs, merchants, and mid-market businesses. Lead the development of commercial banking products, value-added services, and marketplace solutions. Build strategic partnerships to expand business offerings and market reach. Oversee collections strategies to improve repayment performance and reduce portfolio risks. Monitor performance against deposit, revenue, lending, and profitability targets. Collaborate with internal teams to improve product delivery and customer experience. Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing business banking teams. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. 10 - 12 years of relevant experience in commercial, corporate, or SME banking. Proven experience in business development, sales leadership, and portfolio management. Strong understanding of credit management, collections, and financial analysis. Experience in digital banking, payments, value-added services, or financial inclusion is an advantage. Knowledge of cooperative finance and Nigeria's community banking ecosystem is desirable. Excellent leadership, negotiation, strategic thinking, and relationship management skills. An MBA or relevant master's degree will be an added advantage.
