Position Summary:
The HIV Epidemiologist will provide technical advisory services and thought leadership on HIV surveillance, epidemiological analysis, data modelling, and implementation science activities across Palladium Kenya health projects. The role supports national and countyÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂlevel HIV data use, program evaluation, and policyÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂrelevant analytics.
Location:
The position is based in Palladium Kenya office, in Nairobi.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical guidance on HIV epidemiological analysis, modelling, and use of routinely collected program and surveillance data.
Lead and support implementation science, operational research, and evaluation activities related to HIV/TB programs.
Provide technical assistance to Ministry of Health (MoH), United States Government (USG), and other stakeholders on data modelling and epidemiological review.
Coordinate protocol development, data quality assurance, and ethical/nonÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂresearch determinations.
Produce highÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂquality analytic outputs including reports, abstracts, manuscripts, presentations, and policy briefs.
Support capacityÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂbuilding activities, including development of training materials and facilitation of stakeholder trainings.
Key Requirements:
Advanced degree (Master's level or higher) in Epidemiology, Public Health, Statistics, Health Systems, or a related field.
At least five (5) years of experience in public health research, evaluation, or implementation science, preferably related to HIV/TB.
Strong publication record in peerÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂreviewed journals; firstÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂauthor publications are an added advantage.
Demonstrated expertise in epidemiological and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Stata, R, SAS, SPSS, Python).
Experience working with Kenya's National Data Warehouse or similar largeÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂscale health data systems is an added advantage.
Strong stakeholder engagement, leadership, and technical writing skills.
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
