Role Summary
Reporting to the Senior ICT Officer, the ICT Intern will gain valuable handsÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂon experience in Information Technology within a dynamic NGO environment. The internship is designed to provide exposure to core ICT functions, including user support, systems administration, network monitoring, systems and data management, and ICT security operations. The intern will work closely with the ICT team to assist in daily operations, contribute to ongoing projects, and support the organization's mission by ensuring smooth, secure, and reliable ICT services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Provide helpdesk assistance to staff on standard software and hardware issues.
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
Support network troubleshooting and maintenance.
Follow up on ICT equipment repairs and maintenance.
Provide ICT support during meetings, events, and field activities.
Support ICT Security Operations, including monitoring threats, enforcing security policies, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
Document and escalate unresolved issues to senior ICT staff.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the ICT supervisor
Required Academic and Professional Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Familiarity with Unix and Windows-based applications and basic networking concepts.
Experience in networking, PC maintenance, MS Windows server, MS Active Directory, desktop operating systems, Cisco routing, switching, and voice technologies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
