Junior Attorney - Pietermaritzburg

Our client seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Attorney to join its Legal Process Team in Pietermaritzburg. Responsibilities Drafting summonses, applications, affidavits, and other legal documents Managing debt recovery matters and initiating legal action against debtors Utilising CaseLines and Court Online to monitor litigation Conducting deceased estate and insolvency searches Liaising with courts, sheriffs, correspondent attorneys, liquidators and other stakeholders Preparing briefs to counsel and appearing in court when required Managing post-judgment processes, including warrants of execution and bank account attachments Providing legal opinions on credit law and legislative developments Requirements Completed articles and awaiting admission or recently admitted as an attorney Previous experience in debt recovery, civil litigation or a similar role Knowledge of CaseLines, Court Online and legal processes Strong drafting, communication, organisational and analytical skills Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines and work independently
