We are a Christian school in the education sector looking for an additional Kitchen Assistant. Assisting in the day to day operation of the kitchen under the supervision of the Head of Department - Catering, help in the organization with a view to optimal resource utilization, hygiene, safety, and general operation.
Responsibilities
Assist in ingredients preparations this includes (chopping, peeling, sorting, cutting, etc.).
Prepare and serve meals for learners, staff, and during events.
Ensure timely serving of all meals throughout the day.
Ensure there is a constant supply of clean and fresh water for cleaning, and cooking.
Participate in food preparation, and follow Head of Department - catering instructions on general kitchen operation.
Ensure a great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
Follow Head of Department - catering instructions on menus accordingly to ensure proper nutrition and healthy eating.
Ensure safe food storage and proper management of food and kitchen items in the stores and kitchen.
Check the quality of meal ingredients as per the day's menu.
Ensure removal of all food from the kitchen by packaging safely or managing waste to ensure safe and hygienic standards.
Requirements
Diploma/Certificate in Food production or catering.
3 years' relevant experience.
Valid certificate of good conduct.
Valid food handler's certificate.
