We are looking for a dynamic, results-driven Plumbing Intern, who will primarily be responsible for assisting in installation and repair as well as the maintenance Function as assigned with the highest possible professional standards with Tamarind Management Limited policies, procedures and standards established to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting with Installation and Repair: Helping experienced plumbers install, maintain, and repair various plumbing components, fixtures, and systems, such as:
Pipes, tubes, and fittings (cutting, measuring, threading, assembling).
Toilets, sinks, showers, and tubs.
Water heaters, boilers, and drainage systems.
Locating and Diagnosing Issues: Assisting in identifying leaks, clogs, and other malfunctions in water supply and drainage systems.
Tool Handling and Maintenance: Learning the proper use, care, and maintenance of hand tools,power tools, and specialized plumbing equipment (e.g., pipe wrenches, cutters, welding/soldering equipment).
Site Preparation and Cleanup: Setting up the job site, carrying and fetching tools and materials, and ensuring the work area is thoroughly cleaned after the job is complete.
Recording and checklist: Assist in taking and checking utilities records for future reference. Opening and closing duties for day planning purposes and other engineering activities such as repairs and upgrades.
SOPs; Assist in making sure that all standards are maintained and adhered to.
Time management: Help to minimize on down time and improve on guest experience.### Learning and Technical Duties Following Instructions: Strictly adhering to the instructions and directions given by the supervising licensed plumber.
Safety Compliance: Learning and strictly following all company and industry safety protocols and plumbing codes (federal, state, and local).
Reading Blueprints: Learning to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand the layout of plumbing systems.
Material Management: Assisting in maintaining inventory, organizing the work vehicle, picking up supplies from vendors, and estimating the materials required for a job.
Testing Systems: Helping to test new or repaired systems for leaks using air or water pressure gauges to ensure proper function and safety.
Qualifications
Certificate or Diploma in plumbing, water engineering or related fields.
Basic understanding of plumbing systems.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Knowledge of environmental management and safety practices
Prior exposure to plumbing tasks (installations, repairs, maintenance) is an advantage
Willingness to learn on the job and support senior plumbers
Attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Teamwork and reliability in following instructions
