Manager, Public Relations

Daystar Power Group is a Pan-African provider of solar and hybrid power solutions, offering its systems on a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), fixed monthly fee lease, or buy-out basis. All our solutions are accompanied by comprehensive maintenance services, to ensure the solutions run 365 days a year. We are currently operational in seven countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Senegal, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Tanzania.

Daystar Power Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Relations Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic PR initiatives that enhance our brand reputation, engage stakeholders, and promote our renewable energy projects. This role requires a proactive, creative, and results-driven individual with a passion for sustainability and excellent communication skills.

Key responsibilities:

A. Public Relations

• Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies to promote Daystar Power Solution's renewable energy projects and initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with media, industry influencers, and key stakeholders.
• Craft compelling press releases, articles, and other content to secure positive media coverage.
• Manage media inquiries and coordinate interviews, press conferences, and other PR events.
• Monitor and analyses media coverage and PR campaign performance, providing regular reports and insights.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Business Development, Human Resource, Legal Services, and Project Engineering, to align PR efforts with company goals.
• Lead crisis communication efforts and manage reputation issues effectively.
• Lead and drive engagement and public relation activities on all Daystar Power Group Social media platforms.
• Organise and participate in industry events, conferences, and community outreach programs.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in renewable energy.

1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Journalism, or any related field.

2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in public relations, preferably within the renewable energy or sustainability sector.

3. Language Proficiency: English & French (excellent oral & writing skills)

4. Character:

• Proven track record of successful PR campaigns and media relations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with international media and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with digital marketing and social media strategies.
• Strong organisational and project management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of the renewable energy industry and its regulatory landscape in Africa.
• Proficiency in using PR tools and software.
• Excellent time management skills.
