About the role:

Please note this role will be based in our Cape Town office on Tuesdays and Wednesday

Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the Product Design & User Experience Team Leader manages a team of UX designers and UI developers to provide an exceptional user experience for Euromonitor’s customers.

 

A hands on role, the Team Leader will partner with Product Managers to support the needs of the customer and with the support of their team, work with engineering to deliver pragmatic solutions in a timely manner whilst balancing the long-term product design roadmap and user experience strategy.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with the Director of Product Management to input into the wider product strategy.
  • Support the creation of a strong user/customer research program to validate problems and solutions.
  • Delivers and oversees design and UI deliverables that support the enhancement of new and existing products and features.
  • Supports the delivery of: Product branding, visual styling, interaction design, information architecture, UX research and UI development.
  • Advocate for the users to ensure that the product design deliverables aligns to our users’ needs and expectations.
  • Leads the end-to-end design process of the team to drive high quality on-time product design for existing journeys or new capabilities.
  • Leads, hires, and mentors the product design team to meet timely deliverables.
  • Lead design team reviews.
  • Coordinates across the portfolio to ensure consistent and accurate product design practices are followed.
  • Presents product design ideas and solutions to Product Managers and Product Owners
  • Promotes modern design standards, patterns, and practices and recommends technologies and tools to optimise technical skills and delivery.
  • Defines success criteria that ensure exceptional customer experiences by partnering closely with product and engineering teams.
  • Leverages metrics, user testing, and quality thinking to generate insights along with actionable recommendations that drive product design improvements and innovation.
  • Identifies flaws, defects, and points of improvement in the product prior to its release to market.
  • Highlight dependencies as they arise across portfolios to Product Managers and Tech Leads.

 

What you’ll need:

  • You will be a highly self-motivated professional with a proven track record in Product Design / UX
  • Experience with Figma (Adobe XD would be nice to have)
  • Experience with all Microsoft applications
  • Experience managing a team, in a global organisation is ideal
  • Gravitas to work cross collaboratively with other team in the business
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

What to expect in the interview process:

Initial Video Call; with a member of our Talent Acquisition team (chat through your CV and learn more about us as a company and the role) 

Design Capabilities Task and talk through; we will send you a Design Task at this stage of the process, those that are successful will have a 45min Teams Video Call to discuss – this will be with the Hiring Manager and one other team member

Face2Face Interview; visit our Cape Town office.  This will be an informal step – nothing to prepare, meet our Country Manager and HR – and see the office space and team

The TA team will be on hand throughout the entire process to provide support and champion you!
