We are seeking a Senior Reservations Consultant to join our team! This position involves planning and designing travel experiences, as well as managing bookings from the initial quote through to finalization, invoicing, and travel documentation. The consultant will utilize their knowledge and skills to enhance the customer experience by providing valuable travel advice and recommendations.

The position will be based at Westville, Durban.

The key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
  • Plan and design travel itineraries according to customer requests, utilizing a high level of consulting, knowledge, and experience to provide sound travel advice and recommendations.
  • Manage the booking process from the initial quote to finalization, invoicing, and travel documentation.
  • Provide quotes for the most suitable products and services.
  • Convert quotes into confirmed bookings.
  • Offer alternatives and engage in cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Make reservations and bookings based on customer requests.
  • Load bookings accurately and promptly into the reservations system.
  • Conduct availability checks for accommodations and services.
  • Book all necessary accommodations and services, and reconfirm these bookings.
  • Source and secure alternatives in case of any availability challenges.
  • Manage release dates for all services booked.
  • Resolve any on-the-ground incidents or challenges that may arise.
  • Oversee customer accounts and address account queries within set deadlines.
  • Ensure quality control for all bookings.
Qualification
  • Grade 12
  • A Travel and Tourism qualification is highly recommended

Core skills and experience required:

  • Solid knowledge of travel products, destinations, and logistics in Namibia.
  • Experienced in consulting, quoting, and managing inbound travel bookings to Namibia.
  • Strong understanding and working experience with travel booking systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Capable of handling high volumes and pressure while paying close attention to detail.
  • Customer service-oriented, with a focus on enhancing the customer experience by understanding and addressing their expectations and requirements.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to maintain quick turnaround times and effectively prioritize work while managing time efficiently.
  • Highly adaptable and resilient, thriving in dynamic and changing environments.
  • Resourceful and solutions-driven, skilled in resolving challenges.
  • Collaborative team player.
