As the global energy transition accelerates and supply chain dynamics continue to shift, we are seeking a Mineral and Energy Policy and Technical Consultant with strong industry insight, solid analytical capabilities, and a practical understanding of mineral and energy sectors.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will serve as a key advisor supporting our research, consulting, and strategic decision-making work. You will closely monitor policy developments in the mineral resources and energy sectors, including strategic and critical minerals, while also assessing industry trends, technical developments, and market risks. Your work will help provide clients and internal teams with in-depth market insights, policy analysis, technical assessments, and strategic recommendations.
Policy and Industry Research
Track laws, regulations, environmental policies, energy policies, and geopolitical developments related to minerals, energy, and renewable energy sectors, particularly in resource-rich regions. Prepare high-quality research reports, policy briefs, and market analysis.
Technical and Project Assessment
Assess the technical feasibility, economic viability, environmental risks, and supply chain implications of mineral development, energy transformation, and related infrastructure projects. Provide technical support for investment, business, or policy decisions.
Strategic Advisory Support
Assist in developing long-term strategies, asset allocation recommendations, market entry analysis, and risk prevention plans in the mineral and energy sectors.
External Network Development
Maintain communication with industry associations, research institutions, government-affiliated think tanks, policy experts, and other relevant stakeholders to obtain timely and reliable industry information.
Education and Experience:
Skills and Competencies:
Familiarity with the supply chains of critical minerals such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, rare earth elements, graphite, manganese, copper, and bauxite is preferred.
Experience in Africa-related mineral, energy, infrastructure, or policy research is highly desirable.
Ability to conduct independent field research, expert interviews, or local stakeholder engagement is a strong advantage.
