Truck Driver

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting and delivering company products safely and on time while ensuring compliance with traffic laws and proper care of the assigned truck.

Key Responsibilities

• Transport and deliver company products safely and within agreed timelines.
• Verify orders and delivery documents to ensure accuracy.
• Assist with loading, unloading and securing cargo as required.
• Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules.
• Carry out routine vehicle inspections and report faults promptly.
• Keep the truck clean, roadworthy and properly maintained.
• Maintain accurate trip, fuel, service and delivery records.
• Promptly report accidents, breakdowns, damage and delivery delays.
• Observe traffic laws, road-safety requirements and company procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of O-Level education or equivalent.
• At least five years of driving experience, preferably with trucks or heavy commercial vehicles.
• Valid driving licence appropriate for the truck category.
• Clean driving record.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic vehicle mechanics knowledge will be an added advantage.
• Certificate of Good Conduct.
• Good communication skills, reliability, integrity and attention to detail.
