Workshop Assistant - Electrical

Minimum Requirements Grade 12/ N3 certificate NQF Level 4 Electrical Engineering certificate 2 years working experience in the electrical field Code EB or C1 Valid Driver's License and ability to pass Rand Water`s K53 Trade test Certificate will serve as advantage Primary Duties Assist Artisans in the maintenance of electrical equipment and perform minor electrical installations in the plant and workshops Installation of new cables, digging of trenches, strapping of cables and installing cable racks Repairs of damaged equipment such as geysers, stoves, heaters and ovens Replacement of faulty plugs, lights and isolators Testing of low voltage cables, motors and locate fault using various testing equipment's. Conduct cable joints and fault finding Ensure good housekeeping is maintained Collect spares from the suppliers and stores Knowledge OHS Act Electrical fault finding Knowledge of permit systems Basic Hand tools Electrical work instructions/ procedures Skills Problem solving Ability to communicate well with other people Team player Self-motivated Leadership skills Attention to details Attitude Deadline orientated Safety conscious Good housekeeping Performance driven Ability to work without supervision Accountability
