Job Description
Proactively identify, measure, and guide response to new or emerging risks across the national payment system participants and ecosystem system changes to enabling effective risk management.
Steer and facilitate the effective execution of the risk management methodology for the identification of key risks associated with activities performed within oversight and supervision and the related projects by analysing drivers, key risk indicators and trends.
Conduct risk assessments (e.g. operational risk assessments and cyber security), collecting, and analysing documentation, statistics, reports, and research/market trends impacting the NPS environment.
Participate and provide risk specialist input in onsite and offsite oversight and supervisory visits as required.
Compile management reports, heat maps, risk assessments to inform oversight and supervisory processes.
Contribute and provide input in the development of policies, procedures, frameworks and standards specific to oversight and supervision.
Manage risks within the national payment system and enable reporting into the governance structures of the SARB.
Contribute and provide input into the division's strategic risks and department's strategic risk register.
Keep abreast of local and global trends, threats, opportunities and plausible scenarios relevant for the payments' ecosystem risk management landscape.
Build and maintain sound professional relationships with stakeholders through effective collaboration and teamwork.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:
a Bachelors degree in Risk, Compliance, Audit Management or equivalent; and
five to eight years' experience in risk management, internal controls and compliance environment, with at least three years' experience in the national payment's environment.
