Key Responsibility Areas:


Comprehends the strategic intent and critically examines and develops long term objectives associated with the delivery of an efficient and effective Programme Co-ordination Services in the eThekwini Region.
Directs the alignment and functioning of the key areas contained on the Directorate's structure.
Directs and controls outcomes associated with the utilisation, productivity and performance of personnel within the Directorate.
Manages the Directorate's financial performance against the Budget and evaluates the financial impact of aligning and/or introducing new approaches and methodologies to achieve service delivery requirements.
Directs the implementation or development and review of policy directives and procedural Guidelines to support the application and execution of functional responsibilities and maintain compliance.
Directs and controls the functions mandated with the continuous improvement of the township economy.
Directs the critical operational requirements associated with the implementation of mass employment programmes.
Directs the conceptual planning and interventions associated with regeneration of the inner city and secondary CBD's.
Disseminates strategic, functional and operational information on the immediate, short- and long-term objectives, current applications and constraints.
Oversees the preparation of management reports inclusive of annual reports, business case proposals and interim reports on the functions, performance and contribution of the Directorate to the Department's objectives.


Essential Requirements:


Degree (NQF Level 7) in Development Studies or any other related and equivalent qualification.
Valid motor vehicle driving license.
9 years relevant experience at a management level of which 5 years must be at a senior management level.


Preferred Requirements:


Post Graduate Qualification (NQF Level 8) in Development Studies or Project Management or any other related and equivalent qualification.
10 years relevant experience at a management level of which 6 years must be at a senior management level.
