About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and trustworthy Accounts Manager to oversee the company's daily financial transactions, accounting operations, reconciliations, payments, and financial records.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all company income and expenses are properly recorded, transactions are accurately reconciled, payments are properly authorized and documented, and financial reports are prepared accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate must have strong attention to detail, integrity, financial discipline, and the ability to identify and prevent errors, irregularities, and financial discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the company's daily financial transactions.
Record and maintain accurate records of all income, expenses, payments, receipts, and transfers.
Monitor company bank accounts and ensure transactions are properly documented and reconciled.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank and transaction reconciliations.
Monitor inflows and outflows of company funds.
Review and verify payment requests before processing.
Ensure all payments are properly authorized and supported by relevant documentation.
Track outstanding payments, receivables, payables, and financial obligations.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for management.
Monitor company expenses and ensure spending is within approved budgets.
Identify and investigate discrepancies, unusual transactions, duplicate payments, and accounting errors.
Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
Reconcile cash, bank, POS, card, transfer, and other payment channels.
Monitor foreign currency transactions and ensure accurate recording of exchange rates and related charges.
Work closely with other departments to verify transactions and resolve financial discrepancies.
Ensure timely preparation of invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other accounting documents.
Assist with payroll preparation and verification where required.
Maintain accurate financial records for audit and reporting purposes.
Support the preparation of financial statements and management accounts.
Ensure compliance with company financial policies and accounting procedures.
Assist management in financial planning, budgeting, and cost control.
Liaise with banks, vendors, auditors, and other financial service providers when required.
Ensure strict confidentiality of company financial information.
Provide financial advice and insights to management where necessary.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance will be measured based on:
Accuracy of financial records and transactions.
Timeliness of daily/monthly reconciliations.
Reduction in accounting errors and discrepancies.
Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.
Proper documentation and authorization of payments.
Effective monitoring of company expenses.
Accuracy of cash and bank balances.
Timely identification and resolution of financial discrepancies.

Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
2 - 5 years of relevant accounting/finance experience, preferably with experience in an Accounts Manager or senior accounting position.
Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ACA is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
Experience with bank reconciliation and transaction management.
Experience handling multiple payment channels and financial accounts.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Odoo, or similar platforms is an advantage.
Good understanding of financial reporting and bookkeeping.
Knowledge of Nigerian tax and statutory requirements is an advantage.
