The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing management accounts, ensuring statutory compliance, coordinating audits, and supporting financial reporting across a portfolio of entities. This is a hands-on role suited to an accountant who is highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and committed to maintaining strong financial controls.

Key Responsibilities


Maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Desktop, including supplier invoices, payments, receipts, journals, bank reconciliations, and credit card transactions across multiple entities.
Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and support timely month-end and year-end close processes for assigned entities.
Manage treasury, cash flow, statutory compliance, including VAT, withholding tax, corporation tax, payroll-related remittances, and intercompany transactions, ensuring all balances are accurately reconciled.
Coordinate annual audits by preparing supporting schedules, responding to audit queries, and liaising with external auditors and other stakeholders.
Prepare monthly accounts for portfolio entities, ensuring consistent application of accounting policies, accurate period-end cut-offs, and timely financial reporting.
Maintain reporting calendars, standardize accounting processes and working papers across entities, and provide financial analysis, cost reviews, treasury support, and other reports required by management.
Support corporate and administrative finance activities, including invoicing, loan schedules, bank account administration, board documentation, and other ad hoc finance-related tasks.


Key Qualifications


Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA (K), ACCA, or active progress towards a professional accounting qualification is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years' hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably supporting multiple entities or within an outsourced accounting environment.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, Kenyan tax legislation, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel, including reconciliations and financial working papers. Experience with Jedox is an added advantage.
Experience supporting multiple legal entities, cross-border operations, or group accounting environments is preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with management, auditors, and external stakeholders
