Job Summary
Afripoint Group and its subsidiaries are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and support the company's financial operations.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial documentation, preparing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures across the group.
Professional accounting certification is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the company and its subsidiaries.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Monitor financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
Track outstanding payments and follow up where necessary.
Bank Reconciliation:
Perform periodic bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Monitor cash flow and ensure proper financial controls.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and statutory requirements.
Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.).
Liaise with auditors and regulatory authorities when required.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare management reports and financial statements.
Provide financial analysis to support business decision-making.
Maintain proper documentation for audits and financial reviews.
Internal Controls:
Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and procedures.
Support implementation of effective financial control systems.
Assist with internal and external audit processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
Experience Requirements:
2 - 4 years relevant accounting experience.
Experience working in a corporate or multi-business environment is an advantage.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Good understanding of taxation and financial regulations in Nigeria.
