The Accountant will provide financial, administrative, and management counsel to the Executive team to drive high-quality business decisions, performance metrics, and optimal resource allocation.
This role involves strategic financial planning, IFRS-compliant reporting, internal controls management, and supporting new business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Strategic Counsel
Develop annual budgets and lead the financial planning process.
Determine cost-effectiveness of current and prospective service delivery models.
Provide strategic counsel to Management to optimize resources and investments.
Support business growth by identifying and managing new business opportunities.
Fiscal Reporting & Compliance
Oversee all fiscal reporting activities in line with IFRS standards.
Produce monthly business reports, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
Supervise month-end closing activities and provide daily cash positions.
Manage reconciliations with statutory agencies, including tax and pension bodies.
Attend management meetings to present financial submissions.
Internal Controls and Treasury Management
Maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard organizational assets.
Monitor all banking relationships, lodgments, and salary payments end-to-end.
Analyze general bank statements to ensure adequate cash flow.
Manage the general internal audit and ensure a disaster recovery plan is active.
Oversee corporate business insurance plans.
Operations, Payroll & Ledger Management
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor reconciliations.
Manage monthly invoicing to clients and maintain accurate financial files.
Prepare monthly salaries, execute payroll audits, and review tax/pension remittances.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data collection.
Job Requirements
A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or other related field.
Professional accounting certification (ICAN or ACCA) is mandatory.
Requisite training and proficiency in advanced financial reporting.
Minimum of 8 years of experience with at least 5 years as a Manager.
Previous work experience in a security services or outsourcing firm is a strong added advantage.
Proven background in business management, statistics, and financial modeling.
High proficiency in relevant accounting software
Advanced mastery of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
