Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Candidates must be proficient in ERP systems, accounting software, and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, journals, ledgers, and general ledger reconciliations.
Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
Manage fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, and statutory deductions.
Ensure timely preparation and filing of VAT, WHT, PAYE, and other statutory obligations.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports, and financial analysis.
Utilize ERP systems and accounting software for financial transactions and reporting.
Analyze financial data using Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF, IF statements, and other advanced functions.
Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Support internal and external audits by providing required financial documentation.
Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and operational efficiency.
Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by management.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
ICAN (Professional Level/In View) or ACCA in View is mandatory.
3 - 5 years' accounting experience, preferably within a corporate or manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage ERP, Odoo, NetSuite, or similar).
Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Tally, Odoo, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and financial reporting.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, taxation, and Nigerian statutory regulations.
Excellent analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience preparing management accounts and financial statements.
Knowledge of inventory accounting and fixed asset management.
Experience working with ERP implementation or process improvement projects is an added advantage.
