Person Specifications (Education, Experience & Competencies)
Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or a relevant professional body;
Proficiency in computer applications.
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementing policies, strategies, legislation, guidelines, frameworks, norms, regulations, plans, standards and programs on accounts;
Monitoring revenue collection and expenditures based on approved budgets;
Applying sound principles, systems and techniques in accounting for finances, assets, revenue, expenditure and costs;
Accounting for special funds, programs and projects' funds;
Preparing and verifying financial reports;
Processing payments;
Verifying bank reconciliation statements;
Authorizing payments and claims within set limits as approved;
Verifying and receipting all monies due and payable to the Agency;
Analyzing and reporting on revenue collected to management;
Ensuring safe custody of accountable documents; and
Preparing financial management reports.
