Job Summary

The Accountant (Group Accounting) is responsible for managing financial reporting and accounting activities across the company and its related entities in accordance with group accounting policies, statutory requirements, and applicable financial reporting standards. The role ensures accurate consolidation of financial statements, compliance with internal controls, and timely reporting to management.

Key Responsibilities

Group Accounting & Financial Reporting


Prepare and maintain group financial records in line with approved accounting policies.
Perform consolidation of financial statements across subsidiaries or related entities.
Ensure intercompany transactions are properly recorded, reconciled, and eliminated during consolidation.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for group management.


General Accounting Operations


Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial postings.
Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Conduct account reconciliations including bank, vendor, and intercompany accounts.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.


Compliance & Regulatory Reporting


Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements.
Support statutory audits and provide required documentation to auditors.
Assist in tax reporting and regulatory filings as required.


Internal Controls & Process Improvement


Implement and maintain strong internal control procedures.
Monitor compliance with group financial policies and reporting guidelines.
Identify process improvement opportunities within accounting operations.


Financial Analysis & Reporting


Prepare variance analysis and financial performance reports.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Provide financial insights to support management decision-making.


Requirements & Qualifications


B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is required or in progress.
Minimum of 5 - 7 years' accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or group corporate structures.
Strong knowledge of group accounting and financial consolidation processes.
Good understanding of financial reporting standards (IFRS knowledge is an advantage).
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
