Role Objective
Our client, a reputable law firm, is seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to manage financial operations, maintain accurate accounting records, support financial reporting, oversee cash and banking activities, and ensure compliance with statutory and internal financial requirements.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Handle authorized petty cash disbursements and ensure timely replenishment of petty cash funds.
Process financial documents, including supplier invoices, staff claims, and investment-related transactions.
Coordinate the approval and processing of payments for various accounting transactions.
Review and verify financial documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, proper authorization, and compliance with internal controls.
Prepare statutory deductions and facilitate their timely submission to the relevant government authorities.
Assist with the review, classification, coding, recording, and proper filing of financial documents.
Perform banking activities, including cash withdrawals, collection of cheque books and bank statements, and other authorized banking transactions.
Assist in preparing, implementing, and monitoring budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and financial performance reports.
Ensure adherence to applicable statutory regulations, organizational policies, procedures, strategies, and financial standards.
Maintain cash books and prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements, following up on any discrepancies.
Prepare periodic financial reports and provide other accounting and finance support as directed by the immediate supervisor.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
Minimum CPA Section IV or equivalent
Degree/Diploma in Commerce/Accounting/Business administration
Previous relevant work experience required.
At least 3 years of experience.
IT proficiency & Account Software skills
Knowledge of budget preparation and control process.
Analytical skills.
Knowledge of principles and standard practices of accounting.
