Role Objective
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the firm\'s financial activities and keeping accurate and up-to-date financial records. The role will ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded, statutory requirements are met on time, and management receives clear and reliable financial information for decision-making.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Manage the firm\'s day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial transaction processing.
Maintain accurate cash books and conduct bank and account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
Review and process invoices, payments, receipts, petty cash, and other financial transactions in accordance with established approval procedures and internal controls.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports, and financial analyses.
Coordinate month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial records.
Monitor cash flow, receivables, payables and providing management with timely updates on the firm\'s financial position.
Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses.
Ensure accurate and timely preparation, filing, and payment of statutory taxes and regulatory obligations e.g KRA, NSSF, SHA, and other statutory requirements.
Maintain complete, organized, and confidential financial records and supporting documentation in accordance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
Undertake authorized banking and treasury activities and ensure all related transactions are properly documented and accounted for.
Provide accurate and timely financial information and accounting support to management as required.
Job Specifications and Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (Accounting), or a related discipline.
Minimum CPA Part II qualification, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
At least 6 years of practical accounting experience, preferably gained in a busy finance department, professional-services firm, or corporate environment.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Kenyan tax requirements.
High integrity, confidentiality, and professional discretion.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
