We are looking for a highly skilled accountant with extensive experience in managing financial operations in the travel industry. This role is critical in driving the financial health of the company and ensuring robust compliance with industry-specific financial practices.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
Handle complex industry-specific financial processes such as IATA airline commission calculations, BSP reconciliations, and travel-related tax compliance.
Provide accurate financial insights and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
Design and implement financial controls to safeguard company assets and optimize revenue collection.
Analyse financial data, prepare detailed reports, and present actionable insights to management.
Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, IATA guidelines, and company policies.
Process refunds, reconcile transactions, and address discrepancies proactively.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as an accountant in the travel industry.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, or CPA is a strong advantage.
Deep understanding of financial management in the travel sector, including IATA, BSP (Billing and Settlement Plan), and industry-specific tax implications.
Proficiency in travel industry accounting software such as TRAACS.
Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills with a proven ability to manage finances beyond routine bookkeeping.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex financial data clearly to stakeholders.
