About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our dynamic team in the construction and manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Accounting Duties


Maintain accurate accounting records for all financial transactions (general ledger, payables, receivables).
Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, mobile money, and supplier statements.
Prepare management reports including cash flows, income statements, and project cost reports.
Ensure timely remittance of statutory obligations (VAT, PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, Withholding Tax).
Assist in budgeting and tracking project expenditures against approved budgets.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities and prepare schedules for audit.
Process staff payroll, allowances, and reimbursements.
Monitor project cash flow requirements and advise management accordingly.
Maintain financial records for equipment leasing, subcontractor payments, and material purchases.


Procurement & Logistics Support


Source quotations, prepare LPOs, and manage supplier records.
Support site operations through coordination of deliveries, logistics planning, and stock monitoring.
Maintain updated records of inventory and support periodic stock-taking.
Ensure proper documentation and filing of contracts, LPOs, supplier invoices, and delivery notes.
Liaise with project managers to align financial records with site requirements.
Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors on invoices, deliveries, and outstanding issues.


Administrative Support


Provide general administrative support including correspondence, filing, and record management.
Prepare reports on procurement efficiency, supplier performance, and logistical challenges.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and construction regulations.


Qualifications & Competencies


Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
CPA Section II or above (preferred).
Minimum 3 years' experience in accounting, with exposure to construction, logistics, or procurement.
Experience in building & construction industry is an added advantage.
Proficiency in accounting software (SAGE, QuickBooks) and MS Office (Excel, Word).
Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Good organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
Strong communication and negotiation skills for supplier management.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
