The Senior Agronomy Coordinator will provide strategic and operational leadership to agronomy programs within the Kenyacof supply chain, acting as a key technical liaison between coffee estates, cooperatives and sustainability partners. The role is responsible for driving productivity, quality, compliance, and regenerative agriculture adoption across large coffee estates and smallholder supply chains.


Key Responsibilities

Project Supervision, Monitoring, Reporting & Continuous Improvement


Oversee the implementation of sustainability-project activities across 60,000+ farmers
Lead field planning and scheduling while ensuring operational excellence and quality
Coordinate and consolidate data collection from field teams
Manage operational budgets and expense tracking for project activities


Team Leadership & Capacity Building


Lead, mentor, manage and inspire field extension teams and agronomy technicians including the Soil scientist
Set clear performance objectives and support professional development of team members
Build technical capacity through structured training programs and on-farm demonstrations
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and farmer-centric service delivery


Coffee Agronomy and Regenerative Agriculture


Lead the design and implementation of agronomic programs (coffee husbandry, soil fertility, rejuvenation protocols, IPM, and yield optimization) aligned with Kenyan coffee production systems.
Oversee the implementation of agronomic trials in approved demo plots
Drive the adoption of Regen Ag practices
Support climate adaptation and mitigation initiatives including carbon reduction and resilience-building interventions.


Compliance & Certification Support


Support the Certification Coordinator in the implementation of compliance standards
Support in the coordination of internal audits, external audits and corrective action plans
Train field teams and farm management on certification standards and compliance requirements


Qualifications


Bachelor' degree in Agronomy, Crop science, Agriculture and Environmental Science.
5+ years work experience working in the Kenyan agricultural sector. Coffee experience will be considered an added advantage.
