Job Responsibilities


The Air Cargo Packaging Specialist is responsible for preparing cargo for air shipment in accordance with U.S. Navy, Department of Defense, and aviation packaging standards. Responsibilities include inspecting cargo, selecting appropriate packaging materials, and ensuring items are properly packed, secured, and labeled to withstand air transport conditions.
The Air Cargo Packaging Specialist performs packing, crating, palletizing, and banding of materials while ensuring compliance with weight, balance, and safety requirements. This role includes preparing cargo documentation, verifying packaging accuracy, and coordinating with air cargo and logistics teams to support timely shipment processing.
Additional duties include maintaining packaging supplies and equipment, following hazardous material handling and packaging procedures when applicable, and ensuring work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. The Air Cargo Packaging Specialist supports mission‑critical logistics operations in a remote, fast‑paced environment.


Minimum Requirements


1 - 3 years of experience in cargo packaging, freight preparation, logistics, or warehouse operations
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic knowledge of packaging methods, material handling, and shipment preparation procedures
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and prolonged standing
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow packaging and safety instructions
Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization


Preferred Qualifications


Previous experience working in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi‑national workforce
Experience supporting air cargo, military logistics, or DoD transportation operations
Familiarity with hazardous materials packaging or air shipment regulations
Strong organizational and time management skills
Valid country driver's license.
