The apprentice will be allocated to the Lubricants Manufacturing Plant (LMP) in Durban, where they will gain structured practical workplace experience in an engineering environment. The role involves working alongside the plant maintenance team to support operational activities, participate in required theoretical and practical learning, and complete associated administrative requirements in line with TotalEnergies policies, procedures, and HSSEQ standard


Activities
Key Responsibilities and Requirements


Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and adhere to all HSSEQ requirements of the Lubricants Manufacturing Plant (LMP).
Work alongside the current maintenance team, performing daily duties that support learning objectives and contribute to plant availability.
Attend all required theoretical training sessions and practical learning activities as prescribed by the appointed training provider.
Carry out all occupationally related tasks required by the employer to support both theoretical and practical workplace experience as specified in the learnership/apprenticeship programme.
Be available to participate fully in all structured learning and workplace experience activities required by the learnership/apprenticeship.
Accurately complete timesheets, projects, logbooks, and all other learnership/apprenticeship-related documentation, and participate in both formative and summative assessment activities.
Comply with all TotalEnergies policies, procedures, site rules, and work instructions applicable on site.
Comply with the Management of Work (MoW) procedure for the execution of all tasks.
Read, understand, and apply all relevant work method statements, permits, and risk assessments prior to executing tasks.
Immediately escalate any safety incidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions to the Supervisor or Engineer.
Maintain equipment and work areas to the required standards to support production efficiency and quality targets.
Be willing to work overtime, weekends, and standby shifts when operationally required.


Candidate Profile

Minimum Requirements:


Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Physical Science
N3/N4/N5/N6 from a South African College in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering can apply
Applicants must be physically fit
Applicants must be willing to work at heights e.g. On top of tanks, platforms etc.
Applicants must be willing to work in confined spaces e.g. Inside tanks and vessels
