Job Description


The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance and operational execution of multiple retail clothing stores. The role focuses on driving sales, ensuring exceptional customer experience, managing store teams, and maintaining consistent operational standards.
This position requires a hands-on retail leader who can improve store performance, enforce accountability, and build high-performing teams while ensuring smooth day-to-day store operations.


Key Responsibilities
Sales & Performance Management


Drive sales growth and profitability across assigned stores
Monitor KPIs including turnover, conversion, ATV and shrinkage
Identify performance gaps and implement improvement plans
Ensure stores consistently achieve monthly targets
Analyze trading performance and provide action plans


Store Operations


Ensure compliance with company operational standards
Maintain strong in-store execution and discipline
Oversee opening/closing procedures and cash controls
Ensure stock availability and floor presentation standards
Support inventory accuracy and loss prevention


Customer Experience


Ensure stores deliver a premium customer experience
Monitor service standards and customer engagement
Resolve escalated customer issues professionally
Drive a culture of customer-first retail


People Leadership


Manage and develop store managers and teams
Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching
Enforce accountability and discipline
Support recruitment, onboarding and training
Build a motivated, high-performance retail culture


Visual Merchandising


Ensure stores maintain brand visual standards
Monitor product presentation and merchandising execution
Drive consistency across all locations


Communication & Reporting


Report store performance to senior management
Communicate priorities and initiatives to store teams
Act as the link between head office and stores


Continuous Improvement


Identify operational inefficiencies
Implement best practices across stores
Improve productivity and workflow


Requirements


Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
2 - 5 years experience as an Area Manager or multi-store retail manager
Experience in retail clothing environment essential
Strong sales and performance management background
Proven leadership and team development ability
Strong operational and organizational skills
Analytical mindset with KPI focus
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to travel between stores
