Job Summary

We are seeking a results-driven, commercially focused Area Sales Manager to lead sales operations in the region. The role is responsible for driving market share growth, expanding distribution coverage, managing distributor relationships, and developing a high-performing sales team.

Key Responsibilities


Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets, driving both primary and secondary sales performance.
Lead and develop Territory Sales Executives (TSEs) and Sales Representatives (SRs) to achieve high performance.
Build and manage strong distributor partnerships, ensuring operational efficiency and financial health.
Drive market coverage, distribution growth, and execution of key sales drivers across all territories.
Ensure compliance with sales systems (SFA, DMS) and leverage data for performance improvement.
Execute trade marketing activities effectively while monitoring ROI and market competitiveness.
Track performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to achieve business objectives.


Requirements


Bachelor's degree in any discipline; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years' FMCG sales experience, with prior experience as a Territory Sales Manager or similar role.
Proven ability to manage distributors, sales teams, and multiple channels effectively.
Strong understanding of traditional trade, including wholesalers, open markets, and retail outlets.
Experience operating within complex distribution networks and executing trade promotions/activations.
Proficiency in Sales Force Automation (SFA), business intelligence tools, and data analysis.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and develop teams
