About the Role
What if you could lead an entire area within a region, bringing kitchens, schools and teams together to deliver safe, reliable and impactful service to thousands of learners?
As an Area Supervisor, you will own the day-to-day performance of your assigned area, connecting kitchen production, delivery and school consumption to ensure everything works together seamlessly.
You'll lead teams, solve operational challenges and drive performance across Cost, Production, Delivery, Consumption, Experience, Safety and Controls, turning priorities into results on the ground.
Scope
Lead one assigned area, covering its kitchens, schools and direct reports.
Own area performance across all seven operational domains.
Identify and resolve challenges, ensuring actions have clear owners and are followed through to closure.
Build safe, consistent and high-performing operations that deliver for learners every day.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys solving problems, developing teams and seeing the direct impact of their work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own area cost per meal and budget performance; analyse cost and volume variance and agree recovery actions with Finance and the Regional Manager.
Own Production and Delivery performance; kitchen readiness, yield, dispatch and OTIF coordinating Area Operation Officers, Kitchen Managers and Logistics to resolve handoff failures.
Own Consumption and Experience performance; tapping utilisation, wallet utilisation, feeding consistency and escalation resolution coordinating PDA and school support functions.
Maintain Safety and Control standards; ensure critical risks are escalated immediately, and corrective actions are closed with evidence.
Resolve competing production and consumption priorities, including conflicting instructions to dual-role Kitchen Officers; arbitrate and escalate where authority sits above area level.
Coordinate support-function commitments; Logistics, FS&Q, Supply Chain, Facilities and school support and escalate unresolved constraints to the RM.
Coach direct reports, manage their performance, assess staffing coverage and provide reliable area reporting and risk visibility to the RM.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
University degree or equivalent
Experience:
2-3 Years of demonstrated experience owning end-to-end operations across multiple sites in a high-volume distribution or comparable environment.
Track record of integrating cross-functional delivery, production, logistics, and service, and driving measurable improvement in cost, safety, and service outcomes simultaneously.
Experience supervising functional leads, resolving handoff failures, and managing performance across a dispersed team. Familiarity with the Kenyan operating environment is an advantage.
What Success Looks Like
Kitchen, delivery and schools work as one chain (on-time-in-full 95% or more)
Cost per meal and budget stay on plan, and you agree on recovery before being asked.
Learners use the service (tapping above 85%, wallet 75% or more).
Food safety holds across your area (100% pass, zero tolerance).
You settle priority clashes fast, and the PDA, AOO and Kitchen Manager know whose call it is.
Escalations close on time (90% within 48 hours).
95% Corrective actions close with evidence by the due date.
Your team meets its targets and has cover.
The Regional Manager is never surprised.
