Role Summary
The Arts & Crafts Facilitator will assist and support creative learning activities for children, facilitate arts & crafts sessions and workshops in the store.
This role requires educational facilitation, ensuring that customers receive an engaging, informative and customer-centric experience.
Key Responsibilities
Arts & Crafts Facilitation:
Assist in designing age-appropriate arts & crafts activities that encourage children's creativity, fine motor skills, and cognitive development.
Support lesson/activity plans tailored to different age groups (typically toddlers and early primary ages).
Assist in coordinating and facilitating scheduled workshops, drop-in creative activities, and special event sessions within the store.
Ensure safe use of materials and guide tools, techniques and artistic expression
Build positive rapport with children, support participation, and encourage parent involvement when appropriate.
Provide feedback and suggestions to parents on how to extend creative learning at home.
Assist in setting up materials, supplies and stations before sessions.
Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the creative space after activities.
Store Operations & Merchandising:
Maintain outstanding store condition, cleanliness, and visual merchandising standards at all times.
Ensure shop floor stock is properly arranged, displayed, and replenished as needed.
Receive, unpack, label, and arrange new shipments from suppliers and vendors accurately.
Keep up to date with product knowledge, promotions, and new product arrivals.
Marketing & Brand Representation:
Contribute to store marketing strategies aimed at increasing brand awareness and optimising sales.
Participate in marketing events, seminars, and telemarketing activities as assigned.
Represent the store professionally at all times, upholding brand values and standards.
Support initiatives that promote child development through the selection of appropriate toys and customer education.
Qualifications
A minimum of OND/HND/Bachelor's degree in Education, Fine Arts, Early Childhood Studies, or related field is a plus.
Strong experience in arts & crafts facilitation, creative instruction or workshop delivery (especially with children).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Confidence working with children and parents in a public retail setting.
Preferred:
Background in early childhood development, creative arts, education or similar.
Familiarity with children's creative products and craft supplies.
