Job Summary


The Assembly Superintendent will oversee and coordinate all assembly operations within the manufacturing plant to ensure efficient production, product quality, safety compliance, and timely delivery of finished goods. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership abilities, technical knowledge of product assembly processes, and hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities


Supervise and coordinate daily assembly line operations to meet production targets.
Ensure products are assembled according to approved quality standards and specifications.
Monitor workforce performance and ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
Allocate manpower effectively across assembly sections based on production requirements.
Ensure proper machine handling, equipment utilization, and operational safety.
Conduct routine inspections on assembly activities and identify process improvements.
Monitor material usage and minimize wastage during production.
Collaborate with Quality Control, Maintenance, Production, and Warehouse departments for smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety regulations.
Investigate production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
Train, coach, and mentor assembly staff to improve performance and technical skills.
Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness within the assembly area.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and product quality.
Monitor downtime and work closely with maintenance teams to reduce machine stoppages.
Enforce discipline and compliance among assembly staff.


Educational Qualification


Minimum of HND/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or related discipline.
Additional professional certifications in manufacturing or production management will be an added advantage.


Experience


Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in product assembly within a manufacturing industry.
Proven experience supervising assembly operations and managing production teams.
Experience in plastic, packaging, FMCG, or industrial manufacturing environments is an added advantage.
