KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS


Safeguarding and maintenance: ensure the municipality's assets are properly maintained and safeguarded
Asset register: maintaining an accurate and up to date asset register, compliant with GRAP (Generally Recognized Accounting Practice)
Financial Reporting: preparing and submitting accurate financial reports on the municipality's assets to the CFO
Compliance: ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures and guidelines to asset management
Asset utilization: ensuring assets are used appropriately and efficiently and achieves the municipality's strategic objectives
Asset acquisition, utilization, management and disposal: control the entire lifecycle of assets, from acquisition to disposal, to optimize their use and achieve strategic objectives
Responsible for the entire lifecycle of the municipality fleet, from acquisition to disposal, ensuring efficient operations, compliance and cost effectiveness including vehicle maintenance, driver management and adherence to regulations full control of
municipal fleet.


EXPERIENCE


Matric
BCom Degree in with accounting as a major or equivalent qualification in accounting
Code 8/EB Driver's license
CPMD will be an added advantage
Completed Articles from a recognized accounting firm will be an added advantage
Proficiency in financial accounting software and systems
Knowledge of SOLAR financial management system will be an added advantage
Proven experience in financial analysis and reporting
Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills
Strong understanding of GRAP, IFRS and other relevant accounting standards
Experience in preparation of fixed Asset Register and compilation of annual Financial Statements as a consultant will serve as an added advantage 5 years relevant experience in a supervisory level in Local Government Financial Management
