Assist the cook with preparing healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks.
Wash, peel, cut and portion ingredients.
Serve meals according to the school's daily schedule.
Clean the kitchen, utensils, equipment and food preparation areas.
Follow food-safety, hygiene and allergy-control procedures.
Assist with receiving, storing and rotating food supplies.
Qualifications, experience and skills
Previous kitchen or food preparation experience.
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling.
Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
Reliable, organised and physically able to perform kitchen duties.
Comfortable working in a nursery school environment.
Clear criminal record and required child-safeguarding clearance.
Grade 12 / Matric
Previous experience in Hospitality would be beneficial
