MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 12
Code 10 Drives license with PDP
Performs routine and basic functions relating to maintenance of community facilities
2 years' relevant experience
KEY PERFORMANCES AREAS:
Ensure that the trees are pruned to horticultural standards.
Ensure that surrounding areas are kept clean and safe for use.
Oversee the planting of trees on sidewalks.
Undertake inspections of sidewalks and open spaces in order to plan work schedules
Ensure that poison spray machinery and arboricultural equipment are in very good and safe working order.
Supervise the removal of trees and shrubs and pruning of trees and shrubs on sidewalks, parks, cemeteries.
Ensure that staff understand their tasks.
Undertake inspections to monitor quality work performance.
Approve applications for leave.
Recommend disciplinary action.
Ensures that health and safety procedures are adhered to regarding the wear of safety and protective gear and the proper use of tools and equipment
Perform administrative duties with respect to time and log sheets, completion of attendance register
