Overview:


The Associate Manager, Production will be responsible for the implementation of production plans and programmes, as well as overseeing the quality processes to ensure optimum production to meet market demand in line with organisational objectives.


Responsibilities:


Oversee production planning to ensure the most efficient utilisation of plant resources and the achievement of production targets.
Annual, monthly and weekly resource planning for the factory based on sales forecasts, in this case labour, plant and equipment.
Manage and optimise production processes to ensure the achievement of all production targets.
Implementing other appropriate production strategies, plans and control systems.
Ensuring cost effective utilisation of machines, materials and staff.
Maintaining the required Safety, Health and Environmental standards in the factory in line with organisational SHE standards, ISO 45001 - Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), ISO 14001 - Environment Management System (EMS) requirements, and local legislation.
Maintaining the required Quality standards in the factory in line with organisational Quality standards, ISO 9001 - Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, and local legislation
Motivating, leading, developing and supervising the production team leaders.
Update key performance indicators for weekly, monthly and quarterly metric reviews and present to site leadership team.
Liaison with Engineering, Purchasing and Planning, Quality Assurance, Warehouse, HR and other departments to ensure departmental objectives are attained.
Setting and attainment of discretionary goals; this involves medium term sub-projects as agreed with the Plant Manager, as part of cost reduction strategies.
Driving continuous improvement in production operations


Experience you'll bring:


Degree in engineering or related field from a recognized university
5-year work experience in a manufacturing plant preferably in FMCG.
