What you'll do
CrossBoundary is seeking a full-time Associate to join our Power and Infrastructure (P&I) Advisory team in Nairobi. As an Associate, you will support transaction execution, project management, business development, and internal team coordination across the P&I practice. You will work closely with senior team members to deliver advisory mandates and contribute to expanding investment into renewable energy and infrastructure across emerging markets.
Primary Responsibilities
Support transaction execution, including structuring, fundraising, due diligence, and preparation of client deliverables
Build and review financial models, including sensitivity testing, scenario analysis, and ensuring key outputs for decision-making
Conduct market research to inform client recommendations and internal decision-making
Prepare presentations, reports, investment materials, briefing notes, and internal/external communications materials
Capital mapping analyses and maintain an understanding of relevant funding sources
Project management across multiple workstreams, including tracking deliverables, deadlines, action items, budgets, and client requests
Development of proposals, credentials, case studies, and other business development materials
Support internal team operations, including meeting preparation, knowledge management, and, where applicable, onboarding and day-to-day management of Analysts
Build and maintain relationships with clients and industry stakeholders over time
Who You Are
Power and Infrastructure Experience
3+ years of experience in project finance, renewable energy, or infrastructure, gained at a financial advisor, developer, investment firm, DFI, lender, or investment bank
Experience supporting the development, financing, or delivery of infrastructure or energy projects
Foundational understanding of project finance structures, risks, mitigants, and commercial considerations
Exposure to renewable energy projects in emerging markets is preferred
Strong interest in energy transition and infrastructure development in emerging markets
General Requirements
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree beneficial but not required
Strong analytical, financial modelling, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, client-ready materials
Comfortable supporting both client-facing work and internal team operations
Ability to manage multiple workstreams with guidance from senior team members
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
Fluent in English. Fluency in French and/or Spanish is advantageous but not required
