Children's Ages: 12 (Grade 5) and 14 years old (Grade 8)
Child's Neurodivergence Snapshot: 12-year-old has ADD, is energetic and sensitive, and requires remedial academic support. 14-year-old has ADHD, learning difficulties, sensory sensitivities, struggles with concentration, organisation, routine changes, and emotional regulation.
Support Style: A calm, structured, patient, and firm approach is essential. The younger child requires hands-on guidance, while the older child needs accountability, routine consistency, and emotional regulation support. Both boys benefit from encouragement with studying and engagement in sports and physical activity.
Working hours: Monday to Friday: 14:00 - 18:00 (with slight flexibility)
School holiday hours: Same as above / Slightly Flexible (flexible hours if the candidate has availability)
Duties: School collections, transport to extra murals and appointments, homework support in Maths, English, and Afrikaans, preparing school bags and equipment, managing routines and schedules, keeping the boys organised and engaged, and assisting with child-related errands. The role requires full responsibility for maintaining structure, routine consistency, and academic support, with the younger child needing patient, hands-on guidance and the older child requiring accountability and consistent monitoring.
Special Requirements: Independent, proactive, and highly organised candidate required, able to manage routines without supervision as both parents travel frequently. Male role model preferred, ideally an ex-teacher or experienced candidate who is calm, patient, structured, tech savvy, and confident supporting children with ADD, ADHD, and high-energy behaviour. Must provide strong academic support, engage the boys in sports and physical activities, and have a valid driver's licence with a reliable vehicle. Calm, respectful communication is essential, with no harsh discipline or shouting.
Start Date and contract term: ASAP - permanent
Salary: R12 000pm (Gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.95)

Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
