Job Summary


The Barman is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests while ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining bar cleanliness, and supporting the profitability of the bar operation.


Key Responsibilities


Prepare and serve drinks according to established recipes and standards.
Attend to guests promptly and professionally.
Recommend beverages and promote bar specials to customers.
Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
Monitor beverage inventory and report shortages to management.
Receive and properly store bar supplies and stock.
Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and process guest payments accurately.
Maintain accurate records of sales and stock movements.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Prevent wastage, breakages, and unauthorized use of bar stock.
Assist in stock-taking and inventory reconciliation.
Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.


Qualifications and Experience


Minimum of SSCE, OND, or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience as a Barman in a hotel, bar, lounge, restaurant, or hospitality establishment.
Knowledge of cocktail preparation and beverage service is an added advantage.
Training or certification in food and beverage service will be an added advantage.
