BDO Wave - Junior Business Advisor - Service Charge, Cape Town (Cape Town CBD)

Description BDO Wave is a South Africa-based extended delivery team supporting BDO UK, delivery high quality work at scale as one integrated, cross border team. The Service Charge team is a specialist centre of excellence performing independent reviews and agreed-upon procedures for service charge accounts across commercial, residential and mixed-use developments/estates. You will work as part of a dedicated team, working closely with, and supporting more experienced members of the team, and assisting in the timely delivery of services to our clients. You will subsequently build on your experience and take part in more complex tasks and work closely with our real estate clients. You will also gain an understanding of reporting engagements and the accountancy guidance provided by real estate bodies. Requirements Education and Skills: Relevant tertiary qualification (bachelor's degree in accounting or financial management or Internal Auditing) Experience: 0-2 years' experience Skills & Competencies Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure Excellent communication skills Excellent command of English, both written and spoken Quality & Detail Orientated Team player Proficiency in Microsoft Office with specific reference to Excel and Word Excellent problem-solving abilities Willingness to learn and develop. Roles and Responsibilities: Preparation of Service Charge Accounts in line with the agreed scope of work Review, conclude on, and resolve client responses to audit queries and adjustments, following up on outstanding matters via email or as required (escalating matters to Managers where necessary.) Preparation of accountants' reports Preparation of client required schedules - both internal documents and those to be issued with draft reports Liaising with clients as needed, dealing with issues which may arise, escalating to senior/manager as required
