Blockman at Helderberg Personnel

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Cutting and preparing lamb and other meat products according to required specifications
Operating a band saw, particularly for lamb cutting
Operating a meat mincer and sausage stuffer
Assisting with sausage production
Assisting with the production of biltong and droëwors
Maintaining high standards of product quality, hygiene and food safety
Cleaning and maintaining equipment and work areas
Assisting with general butchery production and customer service as required
Working efficiently to meet daily production requirements


CRITERIA


Previous experience as a Blockman or in a commercial butchery environment
Good practical knowledge of different meat cuts
Experience operating a band saw, mincer and sausage stuffer
Experience with sausage, biltong and droëwors production
Good understanding of butchery hygiene and food-handling practices
Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently
Sober habits are essential
Must be willing to work weekends and public holidays
Living in Grabouw, Botrivier or the surrounding area is essential
