Job Purpose
The Bodyshop Estimator will be responsible for assessing vehicle damage, preparing accurate repair estimates, liaising with insurance companies and customers, and ensuring that repairs are planned and costed in accordance with manufacturer standards, insurance requirements, and the company's profitability objectives. The role requires broad knowledge across all vehicle makes and models, working in a multibrand environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed inspections of accident-damaged vehicles across all makes and models.
Identify structural, cosmetic, mechanical, and hidden damage.
Determine repair or replacement requirements using OEM repair procedures applicable to each vehicle brand.
Prepare accurate repair estimates including labour, paint, materials, and replacement parts.
Submit estimates and supporting documentation to insurance companies.
Negotiate repair approvals and manage supplementary claims.
Explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines to customers.
Coordinate repair planning with workshop technicians and management.
Monitor repair progress and update estimates when required.
Ensure all repairs comply with OEM standards and quality requirements for each respective brand.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Motor Vehicle Technology, Auto Body Repair, or a related field.
4 - 5 years' proven experience in collision repair estimating or Bodyshop operations.
Demonstrated experience working across multiple vehicle makes and models (multibrand environment).
Estimating Certification (TVET/CDACC framework).
Insurance Claims Administration Training (added advantage).
Experience using recognised estimating software (e.g. Audatex, GT Motive).
