Job Description


The hotel bookkeeper is a service professional who will help the hotel management keep track of the money they earn and spend.
He or she will be responsible for recording, verifying, and analyzing financial transactions; preparing reports and statements; processing payments and invoices; and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements.
The hotel bookkeeper will also work closely with other departments, such as front office, F&B, kitchen, housekeeping, and maintenance, to monitor expenses and revenues.


Duties and Responsibilities


Recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process.
Ensuring all tax payments are up to date as mandated
Reconciling sales, and bank accounts at the end of each month.
Monitoring financial transactions and reports.
Processing accounts receivable and payable.
Preparing budget and income sheets.
Ordering supplies and equipment as authorized by management.
Providing financial advice and guidance to the hotel management.


Requirements


Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software, such as Palm Cube software.
