Leveraging their entrepreneurial spirit and digital fluency, the Champion Agent acts as a trusted advisor, educating business owners on Bumpa's value, facilitating their onboarding, and providing initial support to ensure successful product usage. This role is crucial for expanding Bumpa's reach and empowering Kenyan businesses to thrive in the digital economy.

Job Details

Market Identification & Lead Generation:


Proactively identify and engage with MSMEs (e.g., retailers, service providers, online vendors, artisans) within their assigned or chosen local community, markets, and online business groups.
Understand the specific business challenges (e.g., lack of online presence, disorganized inventory, inability to accept digital payments, marketing difficulties) faced by potential merchants.
Qualify leads based on their potential need for Bumpa and their readiness for digital adoption.


Consultative Sales & Value Demonstration:


Conduct compelling one-on-one or small group presentations/demonstrations of the Bumpa platform, highlighting features relevant to the merchant's specific pain points.
Clearly articulate the tangible benefits and Return on Investment (ROI) of using Bumpa (e.g., increased sales, better organization, wider customer reach, simplified payments).
Utilize personal success stories and localized testimonials to build credibility and trust.


Objection Handling & Trust Building:


Address common objections related to digital literacy, cost, security, and complexity with patience, empathy, and practical solutions.
Build strong rapport and trust with potential merchants through consistent follow-up, clear communication, and reliable information.


Onboarding & Activation Facilitation:


Guide potential merchants through the Bumpa sign-up/subscription process using their unique referral link/code.
Provide hands-on assistance with initial setup steps, such as setting up their online store, adding initial products, or integrating payment gateways, to ensure successful activation.
Encourage and monitor initial product usage to ensure the merchant experiences early success with Bumpa.


Peer-to-Peer Support & Feedback Loop:


Act as a primary point of contact for basic queries and troubleshooting for newly onboarded merchants, escalating complex issues to Bumpa's dedicated support channels.
Gather feedback from merchants regarding product features, user experience, and market needs, relaying this valuable information to the Bumpa team for continuous improvement.


Brand Advocacy & Community Engagement:


Act as a credible local brand ambassador for Bumpa, sharing marketing messages, promotions, and success stories within their networks.
Participate in local business groups, market associations, and online communities to promote Bumpa and foster a supportive ecosystem for MSMEs.


Requirements


Minimum of first degree or equivalent
Proven experience (at least 2 years) in sales, customer service, or community engagement, preferably within the tech, e-commerce, or financial services sectors targeting SMEs.
Strong understanding of basic e-commerce concepts, digital payments, and online/offline business operations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
Proficiency in local languages relevant to their target region in addition to English.
Comfortable with digital tools and mobile applications, capable of conducting live product demonstrations on a smartphone.
Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of managing a sales pipeline independently.
Access to a smartphone with internet connectivity.
Candidate must be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
