Role Summary


We are seeking an experienced business analyst based in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial services, particularly within the insurance sector, and demonstrate proficiency across Agile, Waterfall, and RUP methodologies.
This hybrid role requires in-office presence three days per week. Key responsibilities include business process modelling, requirements documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
The candidate should be comfortable using Confluence and Jira to review documentation, update tasks, and track delivery progress, as well as Miro for collaborative group sessions and interactive workshops.


Key Responsibilities and Output Areas Include:


Analyse business needs and advise on solutions within design and implementation constraints.
Lead and/or participate in requirements session, covering process, business rules, flow of data and/or system changes/enhancements
Document requirements, including data models, interfaces, and workflows.
Collaborate with systems analysts and project managers to deliver solutions.
Lead and participate in user acceptance testing and ensure adherence to protocols.
Investigate and define business process requirements.
Conduct feasibility studies and establish system needs with stakeholders.
Develop strategies to improve business processes and identify risks.
Facilitate implementation of new or improved processes.
Provide end-user support and training.
Consult management on business procedures and policy improvements.


Key Requirements


Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Business Analysis, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
BABOK knowledge preferred; CBAP certification is a plus.
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
Proven expertise in Agile, Waterfall, and RUP methodologies. Working with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers and Project Managers/Programme Managers
Strong ability to translate requirements into user stories for Agile teams.
Hands-on experience with process notations and business process modelling tools (e.g., ARIS).
Experience with Jira, Confluence and Miro
