Position Overview
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
This role will focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, developing strategic partnerships, and positioning Proforce Airsystems as a trusted solutions provider.
Prior experience in the defence sector will be considered a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, research, and target new business opportunities in line with the company's strategic objectives.
Develop and implement effective business development strategies to expand market presence, particularly within the defence and government sectors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and relevant government agencies.
Lead proposal development, including preparing bids, tenders, and presentations tailored to client requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, operations, and finance) to ensure proposed solutions meet client needs and deliverable standards.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform strategic decision-making.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure mutual benefit and profitability.
Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions.
Provide regular reports and forecasts on business development activities and pipeline status to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the defence, aerospace, or related sectors.
Strong understanding of procurement processes within the defence and government industries.
Demonstrated success in securing and managing large contracts or long-term partnerships.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
