SPIE Global Services Energy is looking for Cable Tray & Route Supervisor to join its workforce on BONGA Offshore Project in Lagos Nigeria, who will be responsible for supervising all cable tray fabrication, installation, cable routing, and associated civil/structural interface works on the Bonga Madu EPC1 Project. The role ensures that all cable tray and routing activities are executed safely, in compliance with engineering drawings and project specifications, within schedule, and to the required quality standards.
Supervision & Execution


The Cable Tray & Route Supervisor shall direct and oversee all field activities related to the installation of cable trays, cable ladders, conduits, cable duct banks, cable supports, and associated hardware in accordance with approved construction drawings, routing layouts, and project specifications.
He/she shall supervise the fabrication and erection of cable tray systems including straight sections, bends, tees, reducers, risers, and junction points across all structural bays, equipment areas, and pipe racks.
The supervisor shall ensure correct tray sizing, fill ratios, segregation requirements, and earthing/bonding arrangements are maintained throughout.


Cable Route Management


The supervisor shall manage the physical cable routing across the project site, ensuring that all cable routes are clearly defined, clash-free, and consistent with approved cable route drawings and the cable schedule.
He/she shall coordinate with the electrical and instrumentation supervisors to prioritize cable tray installation ahead of cable pulling activities in accordance with the project construction schedule.
The supervisor shall identify and escalate any routing conflicts, clashes with piping or structural elements, and design discrepancies to the relevant engineer for resolution.


Manpower & Resource Management


The supervisor shall plan and manage daily allocation of cable tray fitters, riggers, helpers, and subcontract personnel.
He/she shall monitor crew productivity against planned targets, identify resource gaps or bottlenecks, and escalate to the Superintendent as required.
The supervisor shall also manage materials requisitioning, consumables tracking, and tool accountability for the cable tray and routing scope.


QHSE


Ensures HSE policy fulfillment during his activities
Maintains a strong safety culture in line with Company HSE Requirements and Rules
Ensures compliance with Operating Procedures & Guidelines with the asset to ensure Process Safety, Operational Safety and Plan Integrity Management System, including permit-to-work (PTW) procedures, SIMOPS, tool box talks, and job hazard analyses (JHA).
He/she shall immediately address and report any unsafe acts or conditions in the work area


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education:


Minimum HND or B.Sc. in in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Technology, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent vocational training with relevant field experience will be considered


Experience:


Minimum of 8-10 years of hands-on experience in electrical construction on oil and gas EPC projects, with at least 4-5 years in a supervisory role specifically covering cable tray installation and cable routing. Experience on offshore platforms, FPSOs, or Deepwater projects is a strong advantage.


Technical Competencies:


In-depth knowledge of cable tray systems including ladder tray, perforated tray, solid bottom tray, cable duct banks, and conduit systems.
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical layout drawings, cable tray routing drawings, section drawings, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and cable schedules Sound understanding of cable segregation principles (power, instrumentation, telecommunications, fire & gas).
Knowledge of tray fill calculations, support span requirements, and structural load considerations.
Familiarity with hazardous area (Ex) zoning requirements and their implications on cable tray routing and installation.
Knowledge of earthing and bonding requirements for cable tray systems in accordance with IEC and project standards.
Familiarity with 3D model tools (PDMS, E3D, or Navisworks) for clash detection and routing reviews is an advantage
Certifications (Preferred):
CompEx or equivalent hazardous area certification
Working at Height certification
